After back & forth with the seller, now I have to pay to send it back for a warranty repair. Also no lens or oil, and Warehouse is supposed to but if items are missing.ssl-images-amazon.Support was a unable to help out.I am still in the "getting to know you" phase but I have used it enough to really start enjoying figuring it all out.The things I have seen so far are just amazing. Now it has been seven days and no e-mail and now I cant get through when I call I’m on hold for several minutes then recording saying pretty much that it wont be answered at this time. After reading other reviews it seems unlikely I will get far, but I will inquire about replacement parts and attempt to fix it myself .Solid build, all aluminum frame, good lighting. He has not used the oil immersion, but that’s ok since it can build up on the scope and "cloud" your viewing if you don’t clean the oil off properly. The idea was to purchase one that would be reliable for a few years.Feels and works like the high end ones. As an avid home brewer, ordered this microscope to perform basic QA/QC of my home brews and decided to get the model with the digital camera.I easily lose track of time while observing different slides under this microscope. And my images are blank at high resolution, only working at 1024×768., cytology). The optics are fairly decent for non plan objectives. The quality of the parts and assembly impressed me; I had an image of budget microscopes as being flimsy and marginally useful, but this one is solid and functions well.On top of that, the built-in 1.
I haven’t used a microscope since high-school and was able to view samples of cat hair and tiny slices of mango within just a couple of minutes.Seeing their enthusiasm remaining to play with the plastic toy even though it could never do what they hoped, we decided to obtain a real microscope to connect to our computer to foster their love of exploration and science.I’ve viewed some prepared slides and purchased some books for entry level microscope use.But It was not…It is 1000 times, oil immersion, monsters-in-the-birdbath-better.It’s fanatastic and we both love it.It is a wonderful tool for students to use.I had not expected to be able to afford the Digital LED version and so was intrigued when I saw the good reviews. He loves it as does his older brother who is also fascinated by the world that the microscope opens up.Sure it’s not as nice as a $5,000.Disappointed.If you hook it up to a computer the image looking through the eye piece isn’t in focus with the camera to the computer.Works… although I am disappointed in the effort needed to get clear max magnification.Solid, rigid metal base and heavy. You might want to purchase a case for it but everything you need comes with the microscope. The microscope itself, I’m sure, is a good one, but wasn’t exactly what I could use to view diamonds and see facets clearly on the computer.I was cautious about the quality, but I’m really impressed with it.The only negative, I will say, is having to go to the web for instructions as well as some really sticky tape on the surface of the tray which was a pain to take off.Used in a Veterinary setting. The OMAX is easy for students and casual visitors to operate.Everything worked first try, even the software for my Win 7 laptop.
I worked in a research lab with microscopes and this is just as good, especially for the money.Have viewed eggs and other "finds" at 400x and used the camera to save images to tablet. Many features found only much more expensive scopes. It worked perfectly within minutes of opening the box! The enclosed CD makes interfacing the microscope to the computer a breeze.Absolutely no slop in the gears. So as a newbie I am so far very pleased with this microscope and plan to use this extensively in various naturalist projects. Some kind of line or crack from light source glass. To adequately review and determine potential issues of human health and ecological adverse impacts, field chemical sampling of media and biological tissue species samples are often required. Our boys are looking forward to each lesson about biology.entry-content –><!– .I did a fair amount of research before buying it, and it has many features that are recommended (X/Y stage, LED light, iris-type condenser, etc.I have a total of about 12 hours on this unit. They are very young so I send them out to find things, we cut them up then superglue them to slides .Is it a Zeiss or Olympus? No.
