I am not sure how this could be the “Best microscope of 2018” when it was designed with a fatal flaw.I had a cheap microscope as a kid, one that let me see details on coins, spider’s eyes, etc.ssl-images-amazon.I read all of the reviews, both on Amazon and other selling sites, before picking this microscope.I am a college student studying microbiology and this microscope exceeded my expectations and fit my budget perfectly. The instruction sheet refers to a YouTube video for assembly and a link to the PDF manual, which is pretty lame.Focus is sharp and smooth, and the controls for the xy translational stage works well.Unfortunately the time period for being able to return it closed before I even had the chance to use it.I want to share in this review some of the things I learned in my research, so as to help you make your own purchasing decisions.it’s not supposed to be.I purchased it because my daughter was taking a biology class and was interested in microbiology.Would recommend this microscope to anyone. The microscope came pre-assembled, however, I did have to put the lenses in.It has been a life saver to be able to identify parasites or organisms and treat with the correct medicine as needed. It actually arrived a few days early which pleasantly surprised me.They pretty much constituted of being a large version of a magnifying glass.I used the unit extensively for a microbiology class, and intermittently throughout the year.WF20X were rattling around in the box, not at all packed in place.Used less than 10 times and the LED light went out.I was so excited I was able to get this picture 😉[review3] The microscope was delivered with no visual damage.
I purchased it a couple months early for the 2020 school year.I wanted to see if they were alive.I considered buying one of the cheaper introductory microscope kits for around $100 but figured that if I invested a little more at this stage, it could well see her through high school and college.Well I’ve barely pulled it out since our purchase and now have started to use it and have nothing but issues with the light and now it does now work!! There’s no place to get a light .We have a dog and 3 cats.🙂 But, I’m very happy, anyway. The second one came without issues. Now I’m searching up soldering devices so that I can input my own illumination for this currently dead microscope :<* update* The customer service is amazing!!!! I contacted them on info@microscopenet.LED light source went out today.optics well designed.I have used professional quality microscopes with my school and I will say that this one is easily comparable to those.I know, I know: it’s not a romantic gift, but at least it wasn’t a vacuum. It worked well except that the fine focus control loses traction and therefore isn’t very effective. There are several reviews stating this but I didn’t think it would happen to me.Somehow there where many dents/chips all over the microscope on the top and side and one even on the metal slide stand part.I read some bad reviews, but the overall reviews were amazing, so I bought this anyway, and I can’t view anything on it, it comes out too blurry. The microscope itself was easy enough to use but the clips that are supposed to keep your slide in place don’t work very well.I cant even say anything good about it until i can resolve the issue with the highest magnification lens being blury beyond use.I don’t know if it’s the actual microscope, the lenses, or my specimens causeing it but other than that 4x and 10x give amazing images! I hope to be able to use this through college and possible med school Fantastic microscope.Everything feels like it was designed with quality in mind, and even my vet was impressed when she showed me how to count eggs.
I had to watch a bunch of YouTube videos just to know the different parts.Be sure to read some of the other reviews for more detailed descriptions of this scope, its capabilities and comparisons to others.Pretty much within 2 days the light gave up.The affordable promotional package made it possible for our village’s home schooling program to obtain two, and our youngsters, some only 6 years old, are currently studying the Eukaryotic structures found on the spores of various mycelium. Also, the focus was not aligned properly and the binocular eyepiece makes you look into it crossed eye even with the adjustments.com/images/I/81oy1cCp4vS.I was simply looking for a microscope for personal use and I’m glad I have found this one!! It has very clear quality and was delivered in a very reasonable time frame.I called the company and told them and they promptly sent a new head and all is well.Amazon said it was past the return date and the company Amscope has not answered my messages requesting a return.Well now I’m frustrated with the high resolution results.Optics show excellent sharpness and contrast.Easy to assemble. However, I did not realize that to use the most powerful magnification, you have to use oil and horse around with it.Excellent and in our case, the price went down about $40.The first one I got without knowing what I needed was a kid’s unit. Its a set, so the included glass slides were good.Althought it may be operator error I cannot see very well with the 40x and 100x Oil Immersion lens–they arrived dirty but can’t be cleaned .Down.For those of us that are not scientist it’s very confusing on how to set it up and use it.
