ssl-images-amazon.I can finally clearly and visibly see the color of trichomes! The key is remembering to put the item you are trying to magnify well pressed inside the viewing area BEFORE putting your eye to the lens.Plenty of power to view trichomes.Might work well if you’re objective is to examine printing on a piece of paper…a very FLAT piece of paper. The MicroBrite MM-300 is just the ticket for gardening and exploring.I also know that if people knew how to use this microscope correctly, everyone would give it a solid 5-star rating. Not only is this another cheap piece of made in China trash that doesn’t work as described, but IT’S NOT ELIGIBLE FOR A RETURN.It is extremely difficult to get it to focus or stay still.I have been extremely surprised by how well this works.Clear screen with light so you can see well.8+ years buying from Amazon Prime and this is the first time I was not allowed a return. If you know what those are then this will mean more to you.In addition, the built in light is amazingly useful and the fact that it uses a single AA battery is icing on the cake.I’ve had this one for less that 3 hours and I’ve already used more.I’ve tried about 7 small pocket handheld "microscopes" like this, for identifying insects in the field and at home.ssl-images-amazon. I originally purchased a jewelers loupe after watching a youtube video slamming this product but had a magnifying glass with a smaller lens in the handle that did the exact same thing, so I returned the jewelers loupe and rolled the dice on this pocket microscope and am so glad I did! It’s a little tricky to use for the first couple of times but once you get the hang of it and finally see what you are looking for, you will be blown away.
When I tried it out, I could see a flaw right in the middle of the viewing area. With the bright LED, a bigger objective lens isn’t needed at all, and the small objective lens improves the sharpness of focus and extends the property that in photography is referred to as “depth of field”.However the glass closest to the object is very tiny.I was skeptical after reading the reviews but then I saw the video by the manufacturer and decided to give it a try.I was able to take a picture of it manually using the video mode of my iPhone 6S if I held it carefully above the eyepiece of the microscope! It would be difficult, although not impossible, to use this in the field. Save your time i bought this for spidermites and small insects .Looking at a dollar bill, on the lowest setting I can see George Washington’s eye in the full frame.Looking for jewelry markings is a no go with this thing. The size is perfect for putting in the backpack for exploring more in depth on a hiking trip.Clear detail : at the cost of cons listed below. That doesn’t work so well.I found this pocket microscope which let me see the tiny details so much better. It was on the back of a leaf on an indoor plant.ITS A MUST HAVE.It is amazingly clear for a plastic lens mini-microscope.INCREDIBLE.Easier, faster, more interest provoking than using a table top microscope.Don’t think I would call it an “instrument” but more of a toy.I have since left the clinic but really missed being able to look at things up close.
It took me about 2 minutes or less to figure how to focus it properly.I wanted to look closely at 1 cm objects but this microscope gives a much smaller work area. It’s actually a lot higher magnification than I was expecting, as I was kind of looking at this as a sort of "super loupe", or one that will be of a higher magnification, or closer look than the 30x swivel loupe.I found something that can keep their big mouths shut for hours!!I actually enjoy it too, I looked at so many things around the house and I was amazed what they really looked like up close. This scope has great lenses and the views are clear and bright from edge to edge.I turned it on and put it on it and tried the slider adjust and said bah this IS JUNK.He was able to explore things at better detail than the human eye .Everything stays blurry. It works, but I didn’t consider how difficult it would be to use a microscope by hand. It’s way easier to focus than the old model we used in class 20 years ago haha.Everything looks so cool under this thing, especially if your repairing jewelry, this is a must have.Focusing worked fine the first day when I was trying to see how it worked using a random item.If you’re looking for a pocket microscope this is one! 60-120x doesn’t seem like a lot just off hand, but once you get this thing you are suddenly looking at everything and realizing just how much power it is in such a small and cheap package. At full power, one numberor letter easily does. They are very accurate. It’s easiest to use at the lowest level of magnification, and would work best with a sample smear of whatever on a glass slide, but I looked at a smear of ear wax on a white card and that worked well enough.I mean how well could a tiny cheap looking microscope work? However, since I own a fish tank, and I also homeschool, I figured this would do me some good to try out for checking maintenence of my fishes water and if it didn’t work well enough for that, my kids could use it to find texture on leaves and what-not.The only thing is I need a higher table to lean over. The extremely short focal plane on this makes it so that unless you are looking at basically flat items that arent moving you are never going to be able to focus in to see what you are looking for.The large ribbed barrel has a nice smooth action for focusing.
