People Who Bought AmScope LED-56S-ZK 56 Microscope Ring Light LED Ring Light Illuminator with Dimmer for Stereo Microscope Also Reviews
-More expensive units have plastic mounting holes that can be stripped over time and this product has metal threads that should make this last longer. The 144 led version has it’s screws directly in the plastic, or so the reviews for that product said so.Variable brightness is quite useful. This is a nicely bright light and the way the cord is configured is so much better. The thumbscrews provided a nice tight fit on my Nikon scope and the illumination adjustment provided a wide range of illumination options. So, I was off to search for a replacement bulb. When the power switch was turned on the light did not power up until I nudged the power cord.Brass thread inserts for the mounting screws should hold up well.It is subjective since the working distance plays a big part. The loss of working clearance is about 8 to 10mm Dimming range is from off at the low end to bright enough to us usable with camera pickoff beamsplitters in place and the objective aperture stopped down most of the way. This unit comes with a mounting ring so dont miss it.The screws screw into metal rings, instead of plastic like with other variants of this ring. The light is bright enough for low magnification paleontology prep work.I’ve yet to have something that this light is too dim for when doing circuit board work.Of course Amazon customer service gladly offered to send me a replacement, bur when I asked them to confirm that the replacement would come with the adapter, the checked and said it looks like it doesn’t come with one. I engrave under a stereoscope, and adjusting a flexible light was a PITA.The variable intensity turned out to be essential, especially with a zoom microscope.[review3] This product works great.Such as this item doesn’t use a power adaptor, I have decided to get it instead.
We use it on a microscope.I use it all the time for soldering under the scope.Mount to the underside of your microscope and away you go.Great light! A great light for my mini mill 🙂 UPDATE: worked great for months the it started to flicker off every now and then, I turned it on today and now it just flickers steadily 🙂 I used this unit two or three times before it failed to light up.It fit well and works as intended. Works great and really bright.Once hot this doesn’t happen infrequently.price was right, it seems well built and does not need an extra wall wart.Works so much better than anything I could have made with one of those battery powered LED camplights.[review5] Lo que mi microscopio necesitaba[/review5][review5] Love it! Really bright.Second one I’ve bought, and I would buy it again.I had no idea that a light to replace the original circular fluorescent could be had for this little.
Cool white light.<!– . Perfect right light for stereomicroscopes.Mine arrived with an assembly defect where the power switch was not seated and could not be inserted but the exchange was easy to do. Excellent This light does everything I wanted in a ring light and excels AmScope LED-144W-ZK in every aspect.
